Major distributions issue joint statement on GNU/Linux security

Debian, Mandrakesoft, Red Hat and SUSE have issued a joint response to a report by Forrester Research on the relative risk of vulnerabilities in different operating systems. The response points out a number of flaws in the original report, including the failure to properly take into account the severity of vulnerabilities and inappropriate choices of statistics.
