(Geneva) During the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the Civil Society Patents, Copyright, Trademarks (PCT) Working Group is holding a workshop "Free Software, Free Society" with a group of top speakers, including Richard Stallman, founder of the GNU Project, and Lawrence Lessig.

The World Summit on the Information Society is a United Nations Conference at which the global parameters for an Information Society are to be defined. The FSF Europe has done a lot of work in this context, more information can be found on its WSIS project page.

The 3rd link seems broken -- the workshop details are at http://fsfeurope.org/projects/wsis/event-03-12-10.en.html

[new] Recording? (#2)
by a member of the hurd (#-1) on Thu Dec 4th, 2003 at 17:28:32 GMT

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I hope someone records this and makes it available in Ogg Vorbis format under a license that allows at least verbatim distribution in any medium.

I host a community radio show ("Digital Citizen", alternating Wednesdays from 8-10p on WEFT 90.1 FM in Champaign, IL) and I'd love to play this. I focus on Free Software and related topics (copyright law, patent law, the ability to express yourself freely digitally).

Thanks for your help.
