[From Bradley Kuhn] The Free Software Foundation is currently seeking someone to fill a medium-term contract for an exciting project. The skill set required is quite specialized, and we need someone with extensive experience doing this type of work. Therefore, it has been difficult to find the right candidate. The Department of Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Milano is organizing a one-day meeting on the RTAI hard real-time extension to the Linux kernel on July 8th at the Politecnico di Milano. The conference is free, but a registration is requested, by sending an email to rtai_meeting(at)aero.polimi.it.

[From FFII] As a result of the European elections, patent-critical forces were strengthened in most EU countries. While on many issues the parties are indistinguishable from each other, the software patent issue showed clear differences, and many opinion leaders within the electorate took note. Georg Greve, President of FSF Europe, has posted a brief report (with photographs) on his recent meetings with the Free Software community in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil to support them in their struggle for freedom and share experiences collected in the work of the FSFE.
