Life...It's a bitch
By Kandra Kay, Section Diaries

You know things are so funny... One minute things can be on the top of the world for you, then ~BOOM~ turn around and your tower has just fell over. I say this because I had my best friend by my side, then one little mishap turned that upside down and now we dont even look at each over, let alone talk. And I do want to be her friend again, but I'm too scared and confused to come out and say it. I just want things to be back to the way they were, although not everything was perfect it was better than it is now... Kandra

GNU/Linux: it's the audible

After an initial dismissal of RMS's arguments for calling the system GNU/Linux, I decided that I was really a Free Software person (not an OSSer) and decided to go along with it. However, saying is a different matter than typing.

FSF Europe?
By rps, Section Diaries
Posted on Fri Mar 14th, 2003 at 05:51:05 GMT
Is there tention between FSF America (FSF) and FSF Europe? Recently (before the new site design of FSF Europe) I added a link on the FSF and GNU Project homepage to FSF Europe per their request. A week after I put the link up, the new FSF Europe website went online without any links to FSF or even the GNU project pointing to their official URL's (<http://www.fsf.org> and <http://www.gnu.org>), FSF Europe was notified tactfully that it would be nice if they linked back to us if we went through the effort of linking to them, but that was weeks ago and still there is not visible link to FSF America.

This is disipointing. If FSF Europe thinks that we are doing something wrong at the FSF it would be nice to know about it instead of recive the cold sholder.

Just my 5 cents.

So SCO have file suits against IBM. Big deal. Let's not break out into another round of warfare over this...

Understanding Copyright
By rps, Section Diaries

Recently it has come to my attention that very few people who use Copyright-- actually understand it.

After dicussing it with some people, I found that most people simply copy notices that they have seen elseware to make their work look more "professional". Seeing as the GNU GPL, and Copyleft, gain their strength through Copyright, it may be a good idea to create a Copyright How-to. So I'll attempt to start one here.
