GNU/FreeBSD progress

As seen in DebianPlanet, the Debian folks have recently made some progress in creating a GNU/FreeBSD (that is, the GNU variant that uses FreeBSD's kernel) Debian distribution using the GNU C library as a base. There's currently an experimental base system tarball, an APT repository and a website summarizing the status of the port.

The First International Free Sofware Trophies contest is over.

On 23rd of May 2003 in Soissons (France), the 18 nominees have received the first "Trophées du Libre".

The winners are Koha, Weasel Reader, Dolibarr, GCompris, Gok et Vega Strike.

The details of the upcoming french law to implement the EUCD (the European equivalent of the DMCA) were leaked to the public[1] by AEL, a Belgium non-for-profit organisation.

France, the original country of "droit d'auteur" is taking a path that leads it very far away from the original spirit advocated by Victor Hugo two centuries ago.
